AKIN IWILADE
Principal Investigator
Akin is currently Lecturer in African Studies at the University of Edinburgh. His research focusses on the anthropology of youth and the various ways it manifests itself across material and imaginative spaces. He deploys an interdisciplinary theoretical toolbox to ask how this category maps itself unto material and social realities; how they construct and evade discipline; and how they imagine their place in life, death and the in-betweens. His work has received competitive funding from a range of bodies including The British Academy, The Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Social Science Research Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council
